About The Washington, DC German Language Meetup Group

Wer sind Wir?

We are an informal group that promotes the German culture here in the Washington DC Metro area, in a German speaking atmosphere. Many of our group members come from German speaking countries and enjoy the opportunity to meet other speakers and individuals they can relate while being so far from home.

We also provide a learning environment of those who are learning to speak the language! We welcome speakers of all levels to come out and practice with our native and non native speakers. This outside of the classroom experience gives students an opportunity to truly grasp language as if they were in an actual German speaking country. They will have a chance to hear "dialekten" (dialects) and speech patterns that are spoken through out German speaking countries that with practice they will come to understand.

The mission is to bring a far away home to DC with laughter, enthusiasm, good people, Gutes bier and of course...Alles auf Deutsch!
