For the December meetup we have a new location, namely Churchkey, upstairs from Birch & Barley on 1337 14th Street. Having recently opened at the end of October, Churchkey has caused quite a stir amongst D.C.'s beer aficionados. ChurchKey serves over 550 beers representing over 100 styles and 30 countries. 50 beers will be on tap, half of which will be American, and 30 of which will rotate out weekly. ChurchKey will also feature something described as "five authentic hand pumped cask conditioned ales representing rare English and other international styles." While Churchkey is fairly packed these days due to all of the "new venue buzz," we have been assured by fellow German meetup member Drew, who is on the management team, that people there for the meetup will not have to wait if there is a line outside. Hope to see you there!

We have been invited again to hang w/ our Biersch friends for the tapping of their new WinterBock. Note: These tapping parties are very similar to a typical German beer festival: loud, alot of beer, loud, more beer, dancing, alot of people, again more beer. Not a good place for idle chit chat or discussions about the meaning of life. (Stammtisch is better for that). I have to limit it to 15 dedicated knowledgeable experienced souls because it will be very crowded & not for the faint of heart. If you are not in the 15, and really really want to be there, please rsvp No & incl. a message expressing your interest. Again, this event is not an event for those who are not planning to drink any beer and/or have no experience at German beer festivals.

For the November meetup we are back at the Brickskeller Saloon for our traditional monthly Stammtisch. We must have had about 50 people at last month's event, so maybe we can surpass that. Hope to see you there!

Annika
