*I would appreciate new members submitting a real name and picture when they join (this makes it easier for me to recognize you at your first MeetUp).

*The first two meetings for new members will be free (to determine if they like the group) and then subsequently charged $6 semi-annually, payable via cash. This is only to cover my expenses to the MeetUp organization ($72.00 semi-annually, April & October) and incidentals. All excess money will be put back into the group (ie. round of drinks, hors d'oeuvres, desserts).
There will be complete financial transparency, if anyone has any questions about where the money is going, I will make ALL information available to everyone in our group, please just ask me.

*As the San Jose German Language MeetUp Organizer, I remove members who have been inactive in this group for longer than three months. I will send you an email stating that it has been more than three months since you last visited this website and the date on which you will be removed; the day after the next MeetUp, approximately three weeks hence.
I really don't want to delete anyone, however, the primary purpose of this group is for people to meet face-to-face for conversation and interaction. If I do not see some form of activity before three months of time, you will be purged from the roster.

*Please RSVP - yes or no - only through the website so that I know exactly how many people will be attending an event ... and remember to change your reply if you change your mind. Do NOT email me directly with your replies, such responses will not be acknowledged. This is particularly important when I make reservations at a popular, crowded or small restaurant ... and include your child(ren) because they do occupy seats. I tend to close the replies a few days before an event to give the venue a final count.
Reservations are under MONIKA and there will be a red and black MeetUp sign posted in the vicinity. In the unfortunate event that you cannot find our group, please ask the Maitre d'Hotel or the Receptionist where the group is located.
Please also bring enough CASH for your food and drink selection, this includes the price of the menu items and 8.25% tax and 20+% tip because most restaurants will not do separate checks.
