Roll out the barrels! Entertainment, beer, music, beer, food, beer, arts, beer, crafts. The Opening Ceremony is at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14 (beer tapping). It will also be open 4 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Aug. 15 and noon-9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16. Donauschwaben's German-American Cultural Center (under the big tent), Lenau Park, 7370 Columbia Road, Olmsted Township. $5; ages 16 and under, free.

I'll be standing to the right of the ticket booth on Saturday at 6 p.m. If you are late just look around and try to find us. I have no idea where we will end up, but I usually try to sit under the tent towards the road where it is less crowded. Past experience has shown that I will not be able to hear my phone. The Sommer Oktoberfest features good German food and good German beer - and lots of polka music and dancing.

Bring your friends. The more the merrier!

    I encourage everyone to participate as the group has been very active lately. Although we cannot make it on this date, I believe the German Club has been very successful recently. At every meetup, there are native speakers, speakers that are very fluent and beginners who just want to say a word or two. We all seem to have interesting stories to share. Let's keep it going. I will be announcing a meetup at our house again in the near future. Movie and Brat nite! LG, Jim and Luana
